Sphinx of Senkamanisken Kushite (Napatan) about 643 - 623 bc. Granite statue depicts the Kushite king Senkamanisken, in the ancient Egyptian forum of a sphinx: a lion with human head, bearded and wearing the nemes head-cloth and the double crown. The double uraei identify the work as Kushite. The sphinx’s forelegs have human arms and hands, holding an offering Jar inscribed with the king’s names. Digital images were captured by
