St. Anastasia’s urn, Sesto al Reghena, Italy
The so-called urn of St. Anastasia, which you can see in the crypt of the church of the Benedictine abbey at Sesto al Reghena (province of Pordenone, Italy), is one of the most important and well-known sculptures of Lombard period (568-774 A.D.). The original function of the urn and the cultural context of the sculptors who produced a such quality work are still hotly debated among scholars.
