SMR Number ARM 026:015 Coords: 54.154286 -6.369761 Map: http://binged.it/1OyZAfS A ‘trapezoidal’ court tomb dating from the Neolithic Period (4000–2500 BC), 28.3m long x 9m wide at the narrow end. Excavation in 1962 showed a 3-segment gallery opening onto an almost enclosed fore-court. The sides are revetted by a kerb of stones. To the North the cairn material rises to 2m high & the sides splay out to embrace the forecourt 6.2m wide facing NNW. This is defined by a facade of orthostats 0.8-1.75m high. In the centre 2 portal stones mark the entrance to the gallery 7m long, divided by pairs of jamb stones. (NIEA Sites and Monuments Database).
