A light industrial complex perched on a stoney asteroid somewhere. It has machinery for drilling and pulverizing the interior of the rock, extracting volatiles, and storing them in a geodesic sphere with a docking ring. Freighters stop by at regular intervals to retrieve the goods.
Alongside the refinery are the power, comm and radiator arrays, rising up into space like battle standards. Refineries of this type are often crewed by a small, tight-knit teams on six-month rotations, but in some regions the process may be completely automated and unmanned–save for occasional maintenance by freighter crews as they pass by.
