More model informationSkull of an adult male, 35 - 50 years old, recovered during excavations at Kilroot House, Co. Antrim. The skull has been radiocarbon dated to AD 1300 - 1421.
It exhibits a well-defined, sharp-force trauma to the left side which is consistent with a right-handed attacker using considerable force. There is no evidence of healing which suggests the wound was fatal. Two previously healed traumas, again inflicted with sharp edged weapons, can also be seen. Indicating the individual was either a professional solider or someone who had experienced combat on more than one occasion.
