This is a life size bronze model of a Diamond Back Rattlesnake common to the Sedona forest areas. The model is located in the patio area of the Ranger Station Visitor Center. It is used by rangers and volunteers to educate and inform visitors to the types of wildlife they might encounter in the Sedona area.
The Red Rock District of the Coconino Forest was awarded the 2017 Chief’s Award for Fostering Volunteerism and Service. The national level award acknowledges the Forest Service and Friends of the Forest development and implementation of new technologies.
