Digital reconstruction of Hut 109 (non-white, male) in the Peel Island Lazaret. In operation between 1907 and 1959, the medical compound housed over 500 patients of Hansen’s disease, or leprosy, who were forcibly removed from their families and placed in isolation in this island of Moreton Bay.This model was developed by UQ Architecture student Max Yin as part of ARCH7002 Digitizing Peel Island’s Cultural Heritage for Cyark.
