Set on external face of the N jamb of a late medieval window, on the west gable of Rathcline church (Patrick F. O’Donovan Archaeology.ie). A small carving. The head is oval in shape. Hair or a headdress has a flattop and edge set back from the forehead. face damaged. Eyes appears as rectangular bumps (eyebrows) with hollows beneath. Rectangular nose? broken. Mouth open to the right in a smile. The chile is pointed. Neck is thick and triangular. The clavicle is flat. The arms are short and faded below on chest, hands touching towards right There are no breasts shown. (Body descript.1) Two wing like features shown extending from clavicle with three ridges. Possible ribs?. Genitals area defined from the waist. The legs are damaged or detached with feet pointing outwards. The vulva extends from the waist as deep vertical slot. (Body descript.2) Design above the genitals may suggest the carving is wearing a dress which is raised exposing genitals.
