My first attempt at capturing anything with Photogrammetry. Clearly I have a lot to learn. This is a Citadel Minature I painted when I was about 12 and have kept all these years.
I shot with daylight using a Google Nexus phone with “Open Camera” that allows for a fixed exposure.
Reconstructed in VisualSFM and then some clean up in Mesh Lab and Blender.
Lessons learned? I need better lighting. For something this small I need a proper photo scoop or similar to minimize background interference. Also a calibration mat would probably help.
Would be curious if another Photogrammetry app can re-compile the same crummy photos more accurately.
