This character was named “Ki-Ko” by myself for the project as it seemed like a cute and exotic name to suit her exotic and bubbly appearance.
The colours and variety of materials on her character attracted me to her concept specifically as I was able to experiment and learn more about working with different textures, as well as hand painting detail to make it true to the real-life material’s appearance.
She has a lovely concept and I’m very grateful to Khoa Việt for allowing me to use her for my honours project.
The majority of her model was created in Maya, with a few assets done in Zbrush specifically the cloth and organic objects such as the hat, scarf, legs, head and body. Retopologised and unwrapped in Maya, textured in Adobe photoshop and Substance Painter.
