More model informationFinally getting back into some small object photogrammetry. This one was one of the most complex shapes I’ve done so far, outside of room scans.
First off, here’s a shot of the source object, if you’d like to compare the result:
To capture all the little bumps, nooks and crannies I opted to do 8 rows of 72 shots (5° increments) for a total of 576 images @ 28MP. Processing took somewhere around 5 days, so I’m glad I have a dedicated computer to render on.
Here’s what all those rows look like assembled.
And here’s what an individual shot looks like. I haven’t figured out how to do polarization yet but my ring light works pretty well for flattening things out.
