Bobcat effigy platform pipe (replica)

Location: Tremper mound, Scioto County, Ohio.

Period: Middle Woodland (Hopewell) (100 BC - AD 500).

Material: pipestone.

Dimensions: length, 84.8 mm; width, 35.7 mm; height, 52.5 mm.

Notes: Catalog no. 1969a5. Original artifact was recovered by William C. Mills in 1915 and is in the Ohio Historical Center in Columbus, Ohio. Modeled replica is from the North Carolina Archaeological Collection, Research Laboratories of Archaeology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Model by Chris LaMack.
