More model informationA huge concrete shape used in artificial space fortifications and blockades. Inspired by tetrapods, which are a coastal defense found around the world–especially in Japan.
Lunar factories press regolith into thousands of these titanic constructs, which are launched via mass driver to strategic zones which don’t have a natural debris field. The regolith is doped with Strontium-90, a low-grade radiothermal isotope. This gives the tetroids a slight residual heat signature lasting thousands of years, and mimics a fleet of idling spacecraft on long-range infrared sensors. It is more difficult for enemy fleets to detect ambushes or sweep for mines among a dense field of these objects.
