Julia Mamaea performed power in the name of her son Alexander Severus, the last Emperor (222-235 A.D.) of the Severan dinasty, whose murder A.D. marks the beggining of the so called “Crisis of the Third Century”, that culminates the political, social and economical breakdown growing since the end of the II century A.D. Piedad de pie, dedicatoria “PIETAS AVGUSTAE” (a la Piedad Augusta). Julia Mamaea ejerció el poder imperial en nombre de su hijo Alejandro Severo, último emperador (222-235 d.C.) de la dinastía Severa, cuyo asesinato marcó el comienzo de la llamada “crisis del siglo III”, culminando la descomposición política, económica y social que se fraguaba desde finales del S.II d.C.
