This is a model of microphone 1 (a Shure SM58) from my Hall’s Jamband room (NTU Hall 10), which has been in use for 3 years, and has become scratched and dented after much use (and mic drops). This model of microphone is a professional cardioid dynamic microphone, usually used in live vocal applications. It is 14cm long. The mouthpiece of the model is silver in colour, but is not the typical round and spherical shape that a microphone should have having been dented inwards in several places. The shaft/handle of the microphone is matt black, but has several patches of grey where the outer layer of black has worn off. The shaft is also covered with labels and tape in various areas, likely to keep the mouthpiece attached to the main shaft after it has loosened with wear and tear.
