This vehicle was created as a personal project to further develop my hard-surface modeling and texturing skills.
The model was built entirely from scratch in Autodesk 3ds Max, with a strong emphasis on:
-
Clean, production-ready topology.
-
Accurate real-world proportions.
-
Refined surface detailing and panel definition.
The Ford Thunderbird served as the primary reference, supported by additional study of vehicles from the same era to ensure authenticity in form, styling, and material treatment.
All texturing and material work was completed in Substance Painter, utilizing a combination of:
-
Procedural masking workflows
-
Hand-painted wear and surface variation
The objective was to achieve a realistic, subtly aged appearance, reflecting natural material response and light surface wear while preserving the vehicle’s iconic luxury aesthetic.
