Mastodon Mandible with Extracted Teeth
This is a cut-away view of a mastodon mandible whose teeth were digitally extracted from the CT-scan of this mastodon jaw by Virginia Commonwealth University forensic anthropologist Terrie Simmons-Ehrhardt. These teeth can be seen here: https://skfb.ly/6s9GQ. The CT-scan is from a mastodon that dates to 13,500 years ago and was found during construction that led to the creation of Diamond Valley Lake.
