More model informationThis is the second model of two associated elements. The fracture of the neck of the femur has led to a complete separation of the femoral head from the diaphysis. This model represents the femoral head, the second model is the associated diaphysis. The gross pathological changes seen are a ‘pseudoarthrosis’ or ‘false joint’, where the head, though separate, came into contact with the diaphysis when the hip was used, leading to severe osteoarthritis.
