Sledge - Ste. Marie II Site

This artifact was found during the Museum of Ontario Archaeology’s excavations of the Ste. Marie II site in the 1980s. The Ste. Marie site is located on the southern coast of Christian Island. A sledge such as this would have been used by the Jesuits at the site to create and manufacture buildings on site in the 17th century.
