Toomergan - CV010-012002 - Exhibitionist Figure3D ModelNoAI
This carving is often included in lists of Sheela-na-Gigs, it fits within a wider exhibitionist figure type. It was originally found in the townland of Mullynagolman (CV010-052002-). Noted locally as the apex Windows, it is uncertain what it’s form was and may be of a doorway or tympanum. The figures comprises a long, oval, bearded face with staring eyes and high-set ears, no body, but wide splaying arms and legs, buttocks and possible representations of testicles. The left hand holds a small purse in the form of a human face, the right, a horseshoe-shaped object. Local trading suggests this may be a representation of St. Bricin Irish Abbot of Tuaim Dreccon, who performed an operation on Cenn Faelad after the Battle of Magh Rath (Moria) at Tomergan University in 636AD
