An enhanced version of the Halo 3 Covenant carbine model I did, with my own textures created in Substance Painter.
The model was created by originally using the first person model of the Halo 3 carbine, mirroring that model and cleaning any inbetween space. Afterwards I had gone in with Maya and inserted a lot more polygons in key areas to add more detail and cleaner curvature to the weapon.
I’m aware of the two spots with open holes on the back side of the weapon, this model is made for a first-person perspective use in a game, and as these are never seen by the player I didn’t bother with them.
The carbine has a white base in this model because as stated above, it’s meant for use ingame, which in this case allows me to change it’s colour to whatever I want from within the game itself.
This carbine model/texture is for use within Halo: Custom Edition, and is why there is no special texture mapping, e.g. normals.
