Industrial Archeology // Massachusetts 3D Model
The abandoned Strathmore Factory complex in Woronoco, Massachusetts. This map captures a typical Industrial Period Mill complex typical of those found through New England - a natural waterfall/cascade is diverted into a pipe that sends the water through a turbine or water wheel. Initially used to turn elaborate systems of mechanical gears and pullys, these were eventually retrofit to generate electrica current.
The buildings and grounds of this complex tell a rich story of how Industrialists harnessed nature and technology to power the growth of a nation.
