Bring Sketchfab Models Into Matterport Scenes Via CAPTUR3D

Back to overview

We’re pleased to announce that it’s now possible to add Sketchfab assets to your Matterport scenes via a new integration from CAPTUR3D. This update makes it easier than ever to stage your Matterport digital twins with realistic 3D assets.

CAPTUR3D’s Creator Studio had already included a library of ready-made 3D assets that could be dropped into Matterport-scanned 3D spaces, but with this recent Sketchfab integration, a vast and ever-expanding library of nearly a million free or for-purchase models is now at users’ fingertips. The built-in tools of Creator Studio allow users to customize lighting and create a visually cohesive 3D virtual tour.

Creator Studio is available for desktop use on MacOS and PC.

How to import Sketchfab models into CAPTUR3D

  1. Upload your Matterport scene to CAPTUR3D.
  2. From the navigation bar on the left, click the Sketchfab icon and log in to your Sketchfab account.
  3. Search for a model that you would like to include in your scene.
  4. Select your preferred model and drop it into your space. Resize and rotate the model as needed using the 3D widget.
