Are you looking for 3D content to paint on with Substance? Our latest integration make Substance and Sketchfab an even better match!
You can now browse and search almost 300,000 Creative Commons 3D models available on Sketchfab directly in Substance Launcher and seamlessly import them into the Substance Suite.
Since 2015 it’s been possible to export your Substance Painter creations using the built-in Sketchfab exporter and this latest update completes the creative circuit. The new integration is another milestone in Sketchfab’s historic relationship with Adobe, who added a Sketchfab exporter to Photoshop over 5 years ago.
This is a great addition to our growing list of importers and thanks to our Download API anyone can easily integrate Sketchfab 3D content into their app in the same way.
So can I use these models in Daz studio? Or do they not load correctly like Renderosity.
Hi Dennis – this post is about a dedicated in-app Sketchfab importer. I’m afraid an importer for Daz Studio does not exist at the moment, here is a full list of Sketchfab importers: https://sketchfab.com/importers
If a model is available for download you could always download it via the website and import it into Daz Studio manually, assuming the software supports the original file format of glTF. Since upgrading to Substance 2020 from 2019, the SketchFab models won’t show the 3D view, just a 360 image. Says I don’t meet the requirements, but it was working previously, and I’m running a professional $20,000 workstation, so no worries about not meeting the requirements, lol.
Can someone explain how to export from Substance Painter to Sketchfab in 2020? The video linked is from 2018 and doesn’t nearly explain the new processes. Thanks.
Hi Zach. The process is identical except the “Config” dropdown is now called “Output template”. Hope that helps!
