If you’re using Sketchfab on a laptop you may have noticed that having multiple tabs with models open can make your machine roar. With today’s release, we’re no longer re-rendering a model if the camera is stationary – reducing the work for your computer to zero! THANK YOU STÉPHANE!! :)
Another big change is that we stopped supporting Google OpenID logins. Google will deprecate this system on April 20th and requires everyone to either create a Google+ account, or to convert your login into a regular account. See our Help Center page for more information and if you have any questions please post them here on the forum.
Other changes include:
- We disabled mouse zoom during initial camera animation, as this could sometimes lead to super tiny models in the viewer.
- We fixed the responsive design for Windows Mobile, and made some CSS fixes for iPads.
- When adding tags to a model, the last tag was sometimes not saved if you didn’t press space. This is now no longer required.
That’s it for this week, see you next week :)
– Bart
