Today we are happy to announce the first ‘Sketchfast’ contest! The aim is to create a 3D model in relation to recent news announcements within a short time period.
Lego has recently revealed their Mindstorms EV3 kits. These are new creations from Lego that introduce application programming to younger generations. There are up to 17 different variations the kit can create, so there are a lot of interesting designs, including snakes and scorpions.
The challenge is this:
“Create one of LEGO’s new Mindstorms EV3 kits as a 3D Model.”
Time Limit: 72 Hours
Start Date: Friday, January 11th, Noon (Paris French time, GMT+1)
End Date: Monday, January 14th, Noon (Paris French time, GMT+1)
Prizes
1st Place – €150 cash + staff pick exposure
2nd Place – 1 year of Sketchfab PRO
3rd Place – 1 Sketchfab T-shirt
The Sketchfab team will be selecting the winners. You can use search engines to find relevant reference material. There is no technical restriction, only the time constraint!
To enter the contest, upload your model with the tag ‘Sketchfast1’ through the edit window before January 14th, Noon, GMT+1. Winners will be announced the following day.
Good luck, we look forward to seeing what the community can create! Feel free to reach out to support@sketchfab.com in case you have any questions.
