This model is created using tectoplot, based on a 1x1° grid along eastern Kamchatka Peninsula [Min/Max Lon & Lat: (E161.5°,E162.5°) & (N55.5°, N56.5°)]. The topography is exaggerated by a factor of 3, and volcanoes are represented by the red cones.
Seismicities of at least 4 in magnitude, and are colour coded based on depth (yellow shallowest, blue deepest). These seismicities follow the same size distribution, and are displayed are larger spheres if they exceed a magnitude of at least 7, where focal mechanisms are displayed accordingly for the latter. Seismicities are also displayed against a subduction zone geometry model (Slab2.0), where its depth also follows the same colour scheme.
The code used to plot this 3d model is as follows:
tectoplot -r 161.1 162.1 55.5 56.5 -t 01s -t0 -tn 500 -vc red -z -zmag 4 10 -zcrescale 1.5 -c -cmag 7 10 -b -noframe -makeply -topoexag 3 maxsize 700 ocean box 220 maptiff scale 0.5 -setvars { PLY_POLYMAG 7 }
