Two-handled cup (kantharos type)

The vessel has a bi-truncated bod, and a flaring rim; it has two raised handles and a foot ring. The upper part is decorated with burnished oblique lines. The vessel was used for drinking. It was adopted and adapted to the Dacian ceramics repertoire from the central-south-east-European Celtic world.

Findspot: Căpâlna, commune of Săsciori (Alba County)

Dimensions: height – 13.5 cm; rim diameter - 12 cm; maximum diameter – 16.5 cm

Material: clay, fine grey paste

Technique: wheel-thrown, reduction firing.

Historical Date: 1st century AD

Time period: Late Iron Age (Dacian)
