The lid was unearthed in a fragmentary state, yet it is completable. It features an approximately conic body, a bevelled rim marked by a groove, the inner edge is well defined and slightly tilted inwards. The circular holding knob displays a high ring with an everted rim. The lid was made using a semi-course paste containing grog. Firing was performed in an oxidation atmosphere but the artefact shows traces of secondary firing. The knob reveals an incised mark at the exterior, almost circular, possibly a graffito or the result of the production process. Such lids covered the vessels used for serving or storing foodstuff and liquids.
