Description: Gypsum is a very common mineral and can be enormous in size. The largest crystals ever found on earth were of Gypsum. In 2001, a cave called ‘Cave of the Crystals’ (in Naica, Chihuahua, Mexico) was discovered where gigantic, elongated clear crystals were found (Selenite - a transparent and colorless (or very lightly colored) variety of Gypsum that forms in distinct crystals.). The largest Gypsum crystal was measured to be 11 meters long!
