More model information

Finally, I’m brave enough to share my first project. It’s been a while since I modeled this, but I see why it’s important to share the work to improve it.

After I had almost finished the Blender Introduction-Learnflow of CG Cookie, I tried to build my first model myself a few weeks ago. I challenged myself not to use a tutorial and to solve all problems only with the knowledge I learned.

I will also use this to compare my progress in the future.

Of course, the result has many flaws, but somehow I managed to model a lightsaber. I used Anakin’s lightsaber as a reference. The hardest thing was to create the laser look of the blade, which I didn’t quite succeed.

And I think I’ve definitely used too many vertices and faces. The geometry can be improved a lot, I think.

I also had problems uploading the model to sketchfab. It doesn’t look like the original .blend file, but almost.

Don’t hesitate to point out errors or criticize my model. Any feedback that helps me to improve is very welcome!

Have a nice day!
