The first written mention of the parish and churches in the village of Selets dates back to 1510.

In 1700, the church was built under the title of the Flight into Egypt of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In 1804, the Cathedral of the Most Holy Theotokos was consecrated. The temple building is three-log, three-story, completed by three helmet baths with a cowl on eights. Iconostasis of the 19th century. There is a three-tiered wooden belfry of pillar construction nearby.
