More model informationAbenaki Basket with lid. The basket was made with black ash splints and sweet grass. The splints were decoratively dyed with multiple colors. Made in the 1900’s by Marion Obomsawin, Abenaki/American, 1885-1980. She was the daughter of Simon Obomsawin who resided in Thompson’s point, Charlotte. Vermont. This basket was provided courtesy of the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, Vergennes, VT. B2004 - DS Project funded by Nulhegan Abenaki Tribe and National Archives Grant.
