Aegyptocetus tarfa is an extinct cetacean that was recovered when marbleized limestone was imported to Italy for commercial use. It was collected in the Khashm el-Raqaba limestone quarry, in the Eastern desert of Egypt and it was dated about 41-40 million of year ago.
