Agadir Id Issa

Agadir Id Issa is located within Morocco’s Anti Atlas Mountains. This agadir, or communal granary, exemplifies ancient Amazigh (Berber) architecture and social organization. The agadir is perched strategically for defense, and once served as a storage site for food and valuables, symbolizing communal trust. The date of the granary use is difficult to establish but there were rules for use and is considered the local regions oldest banking system.

3D model made using a combination of terrestrial laser scans and drone-based photogrammetry processed together in Reality Capture. Project completed in partnership with Global Heritage Fund.
