Relocated boulder on private land near Alwinton, Northumberland.
First noted in probable field clearance during surveys by NADRAP Team 3 in 2006, this record was added to ERA in 2008 as ‘Alwinton/Newton/Clennell Cottages 5’. The team describe:
“This panel has one definite and three faint cups, one of which has a groove. The cup has a hollowed area also around it and the stone also bears marks of damage from a metal spike leaving small round indents.”
On the 3D model, only one of the cups looks definite. The other depressions described are faint and might not be artificial.
