More model informationThis ferrous alloy AMES shovelhead was recovered from a 19th-century gold-mining town in the American West.
By 1879, AMES shovels accounted for roughly 60% of the world’s shovels. The company boasted of manufacturing 5,000 each day!
This particular artifact shows evidence of bending and then breaking after trauma - perhaps hitting some ore that was too heavy or too firmly-lodged in a pile. It was scanned using LiDAR on an iPad Pro in Scaniverse and then cleaned up in Qlone.
