More model information3D Scan of the fossil ammonite Didymoceras puebloense. Most ammonites are homomorphs and are tightly coiled in one plane. In contrast, heteromorph ammonites like Didymoceras are often uncoiled or coil in more than one plane. Didymoceras existed in the Cretaceous Period approximately 76 million years ago.
This specimen is currently located in the “Ages of Extinction” dispaly case at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History.
