Amphora neck and handle fragment from a Dressel 20 amphora type (reconstruction using Blender based on complete examples). Dressel 20 type amphoras were developed around the Tiberian period (42BC to 37AD) and were established during the Claudian period (by 68 AD). It was a widespread and common form used across the western Roman provinces to transport olive oil. More info can be found on the Archaeological Data Service.
