Anatomical figure – écorché3D Model
Sculpted by Pierre Franqueville (Pietro Francavilla, Petrus a Francvilla), the statuette is one of the three models recorded in the collection of the Jagiellonian Library as early as 1783. Pietro Francavilla (1547–1615) was a Franco-Flemish sculptor who worked in Italy.
The man, as an écorché anatomical model, is skinless so his tendons and muscles are clearly visible. Écorché models were widely used by artists to practice drawing and to improve their knowledge of the human body.
