More model informationThis model documents the excavations at ancient Eleon at the end of the 2016 season. The site’s steep cliffs on the west and south give way to a more gentle approach at the east, where the polygonal wall was built by 500 BCE. Most of the settlement remains exposed in large trenches date to the Late Helladic IIIB and IIIC periods, and a burial complex of the Early Mycenaean period is at the center of the excavations that have been carried out by the Greek-Canadian partnership, Eastern Boeotia Archaeological Project.
