More model informationAnti-tank rifle (PTR) - firearms, characterized by a large muzzle energy bullets and designed to defeat the enemy’s armored vehicles. As a rule, it has a caliber larger than that of conventional small arms (PTRD and PTRS - 14.5 mm) and a longer trunk. Armor penetration of anti-tank rifles (up to 30 mm armor) allowed them to fight lightly armored targets (usually at a fairly close distance). Some types of weapons, classified as PTR, had a relatively large weight and were in fact constructively small-caliber anti-tank guns (in particular German MFD 2,8 / 2 cm s.Pz.B.41 during the Second World War).
