Aphrodite Binding Sandal Statuette3D Model
Decription: This statuette depicts a nude, full-body female figure on a low base with a column on the left. The figure stands on left leg; right leg raised, bent at knee. Right arm reaches down towards leg; left arm rest on column; “Type X” pose is characterized by figure tying a sandal. Costume features a himation, an outer garment, that ends at the knee. Hair is in a “melon coiffure” style, characterized by knot/bun at the back of the head; head is smooth, lacking detail. Made from a micaceous buff clay, object is hard with thin walls; white slip decoration is visible. The object has minor restorations; a small vent on the back side of the figure is present. Iconography suggests this is Aphrodite, belonging to Catanian groups.
