Archaeology of Us Exhibit at U of South Alabama

This 3D model is based on the excellent physical exhibit at the University of South Alabama Archaeology Museum. It explores the impacts of human occupation on Mobile Bay over several centuries. I created this exhibit in association with museum staff while visiting in September 2023. We agreed that having an online version of the exhibit might help others explore the area’s unique history in an engaging way.

The initial model was created from several hundred images in Agisoft Metashape. Additional processing included working in Blender and Photoshop to improve aspects of the 3D model and texturing signage. In all, it took 10-12 hours to create.
