More model informationThis gigantic female statue was supporting one side of the Lesser Propylaea -the 2nd entrance- in the sanctuary of Demeter and Persephone in ancient Eleusis. The statue is housed in the Archaeological Museum of Eleusis and dates from 54 AD. Another almost identical sculpture supported the other side, was removed in 1801 by Edward Clarke and is now located in Cambridge.
