More model informationMarzuolo Archaeological Project (MAP) is an international and multi-institutional (University of Arkansas, Cornell University, Radboud University, and University of Melbourne) fieldwork project centered on the Roman rural minor center at Marzuolo (Cinigiano, GR, Italy). Archaeological excavations at Marzuolo began in 2012 under the direction of the Roman Peasant Project but restarted in 2016 under MAP with the aim of reconstructing the dynamics of this rural site at high resolution. The settlement has a long history of occupation that dates from the Late Republican (1st c. BC) through the Medieval periods (11th /12th c. AD). This model represents in the western half of Room D (Area 20000) of the large multi-craft production complex.
