At 3.2k tris I tried to be as efficient as possible utilising what I’ve learnt this last year (and my only year) working to improve my skillset. There are areas where I could slightly lower the poly count at risk of bringing the overall silhouette quality down but hey, it’s 2017 - 3.2k polys is barely going to hurt your GPU! ;)
Make sure, if given the choice that you view with 4k textures, due to the normal detailing on my model it will make quite the difference.
Background / Story
This dagger was made as an asset / prop to fit my partners D & D character, Myahmi. As such the design is heavily tied into her wishes and characters personality. She was happy, that makes me happy with my design after countless tweaks to finer details.
The diamond was my touch whereas she wanted an oval and found that would be better fitting from early Maya boolean workflow tests and such. So I’ll be making another version of this with an opal instead at some point once I find the time.
