Baar-Sternmatt, Switzerland - Corded Ware burial3D Model
In June 2022, during the archaeological monitoring of the construction works for the expansion of a school complex in Baar, two stone slabs lying on top of each other were discovered at a depth of two meters below the actual land surface. During the subsequent excavation, the stone slabs turned out to be the cover of an approximately 4,500-year-old burial from the late Neolithic. In a simple earthen pit, the skeleton of a male individual, aged around 30-50 years had been buried in a crouched position on its right side facing south. The only grave goods were a typical Corded Ware beaker in the back of the body. The 3D model shows the state after the stone slabs were removed and the skeleton uncovered.
