More model informationAlso known at the Clava Cairns, this group of three chambered tombs, located on a terrace above the River Nairn (near Inverness), is about 4000 years old. Carved blocks with cup-marks and cup-and-ring motifs were re-used on their structured and cairns. This decimated model represents a carved rock that was placed on the outer ring of the SW cairn. The size of the rock, its location and decoration, make it quite prominent in the monument. It is possible that this rock was re-used and therefore quarried from a nearby outcrop.
