All the smaller sets were building up to this. The bandit camp was originally conceptualize for the mediterranean, pirate / magic themed level I was building in Unreal for whta I called the Amalgam game. I made the concept of a single level I wanted to make, similarly to the one I did 3 years ago, but fully with my own assets.
The bandit camp is using sets of items. each set consist of 5-10 items and they share the UV map per set. I tried to logically put together items that are relatively close, so when the engine needs to load them, it will be easy, but I’m not really sure I achieved the desired effect, since now for a very small item, the engine also needs to load a larger picture. Without comaring the results in unreal with this approach and to have every item use their own UV, would take me to re-UV all items, but that’s too much work..
